Body vs. Spirit

To the many highly sensitive, intuitive and/or empathic people...we don't have a loving connection to our bodies which are of this Earth.  They are human, 3 dimensional, available to pain and disease, etc.

We intuitive, empathic souls are spirit first and foremost.

So...why would we treat our bodies right?  For those mired in addiction, illness or chronic pain, it makes sense.  Why wouldn't we attempt to "kill" or "destroy" this body that keeps us tied to an earthly realm?  After all, it is our deepest desire to be released and returned to the loving embrace of spirit.

But the truth is, we must find a loving and kind way to integrate our higher spirits with our lower body.  We have a learning purpose here on Earth and as such, we are required to be clothed in a body.

Realize this necessity and seek to love both:
   - The spirit using a body for its own unique experience.

What I Need

I saw this young man tonight huddled near a trash can outside a CVS Store.  I passed by him on my way in with that uncomfortable feeling that said "Please don't ask me for money."

On my way out, I ignored him again until I got to my car...something told me to ask him if he had eaten anything.  He said he had eaten early in the morning.  I had a hamburger in my car for dinner but gave it to him.  He was very grateful and tore into the food.

As I left, I realized he probably needed one thing more than that hamburger.  He probably needed a hug.

Hello my Angels!  What a wonderful day I had and how it started was extraordinary!

I had to go out very early this morning and decided after my errand to stop at McDonalds for an Egg McMuffin!!!  It was a misty, bordering on rainy day as I looked ahead, stopping my desperate search for the three pennies I needed to pay the cashier at "Window 1"!!!

As I looked ahead, I noticed a man wrapped in a blanket who had a shopping cart.  I noticed more that he had a husky cough that (having worked in medicine) worried me.

Having found the three pennies, I decided to concentrated on what to offer this man who was just barely tolerating the misty, wet weather.  Long ago I had the conversation with myself about giving people money -"oh, they will just spend it on alcohol, blah, blah, blah"  and then I decided who am I to judge what they spend it on.  Once I give it, it is a gift...not mine to decide where it goes.

So I reached into my wallet and saw three ones and two twenties.  I did not hesitate...I pulled out a twenty.  I got my food, folded up the twenty and drove up to the man to hand him the money.

It was at this moment I was astounded!  I was looking into the face of an Angel!  A real, honest to good Angel.  I was so startled that I mumbled, "You have a good day....and God Bless."  He replied back with perfect peace and love, "You have a good day too."  There was no need for him to bless me as I had already been blessed simply by his presence.

I wish I could tell you how I knew this man was an angel but he was and maybe we all have to find out for ourselves just what it feels like to look into the face of an angel and perfect love.  It is indescribable and overwhelming...life changing.  Even more so, when you expect to see the downtrodden look of a homeless man waiting in the misty rain!

I am astounded by what I notice when I am paying attention to God's miracles...can you imagine what we miss when we are NOT paying attention?

Thank you, God for your blessed gift to me every day of every year...may I never ever miss any of  them.

The Holiday Blues Undone!

Dear Friends and Angels,

I can honestly tell you that I have been dreading this holiday season....this is the first season without my mom or my dad and I hate it. My perspective has been one of fear, not love.

In addition to hating and dreading, I have become full of expectations. I expected my friends to do this or do that for me so that I would not have to be alone. It was or is “all about me”...I had returned to a place where I was the center of my own Universe.

Somehow I am very blessed by my Creator...whenever my Universe becomes all about me, my Creator finds a way to kick my proverbial ass, and kick it hard! But in doing said kicking, I always learn something and grow spiritually by leaps and bounds even if I am bruised in the process.

Every plan I had for Thanksgiving fell apart and suddenly I was faced with either sitting home alone and feeling incredibly sorry for myself or I was going to have to go somewhere that I really did not want to go. Either choice, in my Universe, seemed to be some punishment and I fell further into my own self-imposed and created darkness.

I don't know why or how this really shifted but shifted, it did. Suddenly, I was overwhelmed with the idea that maybe this Thanksgiving was not about what others could give me, but what I could offer to others. A simple concept, but often I am far from simple when I can make something complex!

Instead of worrying about my day, I decided that I would seek out others who were alone and needed someone to brighten their day. I had heard someone who lost a six year old child (during a school shooting) say the following: “It is not about what we expect from life, but it is about what life expects from us.” Additionally, the mother of the six year old was asked what she advocates, such as gun control, etc. Her reply was this: “I advocate love.”

And with that, I will end this and remember to advocate love throughout this holiday season.

When You are Gripped with Fear

The other day, I was faced with having to do something that made me very fearful...I asked God and my spirit guides for direction and assistance...within seconds, I was told to find gratitude for the situation and replace my fear with this gratitude. I took the instruction and was AMAZED!!! Suddenly, the fear was gone and in its place was courage, acceptance and thanks. Try it!!! Let me know how it works for you.

What's My Lesson?

Recently, I was about to give someone unsolicited advice today. I had written my text and was ready to send it when my guides intervened!!! They have a habit of doing that! I then realized that this advice was going to interfere with two other peoples' journeys and that was NOT mine to do.

I can walk beside you on your journey but I am NOT allowed to go behind you and push, nor am I allowed to go in front of you and pull. Your journey is YOUR journey and our journeys are always separate. This way, we can each learn what we came here to learn.

Namaste.

Defeating Pain

Hello all FB ANGELS!! Here is a little trick I use when I am in discomfort or outright pain! I remember that I am simply energy and form rather than substance (although I am taught to believe I am skeleton and muscle, I am instead vibration which my mind perceives as solid) ...consequently, as I focus on energy and my vibration, I realize that my pain subsides. I hope this is clear and if it isn't, just ask me to explain it further!
